Grant and Scholarships

His training was the finest among equals. He towered conveniently above most men of his day. Trained in the rigors of academic discipline, surely by the character of his superior logic and intellectual prowess, he has risen through the ranks to sit in a well deserved pinnacle, in his personal fiefdom(if you  like) where his word was law as the very commissioner of patents in the US office of patents.
A curator of the best minds, his opinion was policy because it was the voice of authority in his day. Rectors listened to him and words failed them. An intervention was only worth the name when he pronounced it so. On this fateful day in 1889, the venerable commission of patents, Charles H. Duel, proclaimed, “All that can be invented has been invented!”
The impact could be devastating when an authority leads the derail. How would you begin to pick up the debris of what is left in your life from ground zero, when you’ve been systematically fed with doubts about your true potential until you believe it as your own personal gospel. As a young man, you have attempted striking out with an idea that burned within your breast, unable to hold back the heat until you met an ‘adviser’ who said to take it easy because in his professional opinion, it won’t work. Just like that!
Duel was confident that all inventions had ended. Poor soul! This was before any real invention was born. In his day, no one could imagine the possibility of an aircraft flying 30,000 feet above sea level, a television set or cable network, wireless telephony, a global internet network, 240 km/hr vehicle, a space mission to the moon. These thoughts would have described as witchcraft. Indeed, all the advances of science and technology in our day were inconceivable and intolerable in theirs. They couldn’t handle the stretch of imagination and intelligence required to handle the sheer audacity for it. Yet it all came to pass in spite of Duel.
I have seen greatness that was never realized, dream that was never fulfilled, and genius that was never resolved because those persons could not access to the right flow of opportunities. Education and invention is improving every day.  We are not in the days of Duel’s. But sometimes dreams are truncated because of lack of connection to the right source that will make the genius inside of you to come alive.
Governments, NGOs, institutions, persons are giving grants and scholarships to better the lives of those who could not be financially fit to get for themselves quality education. They are enabled to pursue their academic goals by granting them relief and support in the way of grants and scholarships.
Grants and scholarships are opportunities people access to upgrade their lives. This opportunity is common with education. Students, whether they are international or local, that are interested to study to broaden their horizons and knowledge but are not financially buoyant to pay  the tuition are given open windows! For them to be able to pursue their dreams.
Education takes place throughout life from the cradle right up to the moment one breathes his last on the face of the Earth. As we learn every day and at every moment of our lives, it’s very important that we can access grants for us to be able to meet up with our dreams in our careers.
